Magion was contacted by LyondellBasell to execute the migration of the obsolete DCS system at its Europoort site.
The objective was to assist LyondellBasell in selecting a replacement as well as to execute the migration during operational plant with proven hot cutover experience, in order to replace the in 2010 obsolete system. The project included the design, vendor selection, purchasing, site installation and commissioning of the new DCS. The design shall be such that it is possible to replace the old system with minimal disturbance of the operation of the terminal facilities. Magion started the engineering phase of this project in the summer of 2013. During a tender procedure, Yokogawa was awarded the contract as main automation vendor for this project. The commissioning phase of the project commenced in the summer of 2014. Due to the careful preparation in the engineering phase, no down-time incidents were reported during the commissioning of the system. The customer has expressed its extreme satisfaction with the overall handling and execution of the project by Magion’s project team. |
