Energy
Providing sufficient amounts of energy will play a significant role in our society within the (near) future. On the one hand we need to answer this increasing demand for energy and on the other hand we cannot increase the load this puts on our environment. We therefore need to develop and implement innovative solutions to meet these goals. Magion can assist in the design and implementation of control systems, which make use of the available installations, (raw) materials and other necessary equipment as efficiently as possible. Magion is not only active in the traditional ways of energy production, but we also participate in environment friendly ways of energy production, such as solar power, wind power and bio-fuel installations. |
Water
Drink- and wastewater production processes are usually steady state processes. There is however focus on creating efficient and smart ways in dealing with equipment and installations. Magion has gained considerable experience throughout the years in executing various projects in this sector. In both the design and implementation of control systems as well as developing and implementing predictive water consumption systems, Magion has built a track record based amongst others on the Plenty® methodology. |

(Petro)Chemicals
In the (petro) chemical industry production processes bring along risks for safety and environment. Magion helps clients to eliminate these risks or minimize and contain them, wherever possible. By making production processes more stable, we increase their predictability. This is for instance done by optimizing control systems (looptuning). Magion also designs and implements alarm management systems. Solutions which eliminate superfluous and follow up alarms, give priority to certain alarms and which (in some cases) generate automatic responses. The result of all of this is that alarms will regain their original goal: warnings for serious threats to the production process, safety and/or environment. And as a result, the operator has more time for his original task: the managing of the production process. Cost reduction is also a driving force behind the activities of Magion in the (petro) chemical sector. In using advance process control solutions it is possible to optimize production processes at a high level. Another strong cost saving factor is the ability to extend the active production time before maintenance shutdowns (turnarounds) have to be executed. Magion helps to facilitate this in a responsible way, by using the superfluous production data in a sensible and intelligent way. |
Oil & Gas
At Magion we optimize for instance smart well operations by designing sophisticated controls and implementing these on-site. In doing so, together with our clients we strive to create lasting and in depth stabilization of their critical processes on the production locations. An example of this is the optimization of control strategies and systems by means of advanced control and looptuning, on site as well as for remote operations. Other solutions have been developed in the fields of ‘intelligent’ maintenance, based on the analysis of measurement data. Magion develops tools and applications in an efficient and uniform way, in order to make good use of the abundantly available process data (provided by existing real-time data historian systems). In this way more insight is given into the various processes and knowledge of the process installation is gained. This enables our clients for example to increase the interval time between shutdowns or develop a more efficient model for plant energy usage. |

Pharmaceuticals
The pharmaceutical sector mainly uses batch processes in order to produce their products. Specific standards such as GMP and S88 and traceability are used for optimal quality control. Magion is a well-known partner for pharmaceutical companies to design and implement control and production information & intelligence systems according to these standards. |
